At the summit, we were greeted by dozens of playful Japanese macaques roaming freely in their natural habitat. It was fascinating to watch the monkeys interact with each other, swinging from branches, grooming one another, or simply lounging in the sun. One of the highlights was feeding the monkeys—you could purchase a small bag of fruit or nuts and hand-feed them through the safety of a fenced area.
The panoramic view of Kyoto from the top was breathtaking, with the city sprawled below and framed by rolling hills. The combination of playful monkeys and scenic beauty made this stop a unique and memorable experience.

This tranquil museum, set in a charming villa surrounded by lush gardens, provided the perfect venue for the Andrew Wyeth exhibit. The exhibit showcased Wyeth’s stunning works, with their meticulous detail and emotional depth resonating deeply in the serene setting.
The museum itself was equally captivating, with its blend of traditional Japanese and Western architectural elements, and the peaceful garden views made the visit even more special.
